While tiger sightings may be relatively less frequent in the buffer zone compared to the core area, it still offers ample opportunities to spot animals like spotted deer, barking deer, langurs, and an array of birdlife.

The best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park is from October to June. During this period, the weather is pleasant, and the park remains open for wildlife safaris.
Here's a breakdown of the seasons and what you can expect during each:
Winter (October to February): Winter is an excellent time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park. The weather is cool and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 25°C (50 to 77°F). The vegetation is relatively dry, making it easier to spot wildlife as they gather near water sources.
Spring (March to April): Spring is considered the best time for wildlife enthusiasts as the temperature starts rising, and animals become more active. The forest is greener during this period, and the sightings of tigers and other wildlife are relatively high. However, it can get quite hot during the day, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 40°C (68 to 104°F).
Summer (May to June): The summer season in Bandhavgarh is hot, with temperatures soaring above 40°C (104°F). Although the heat can be intense, it is still a good time for tiger sightings as they frequently visit waterholes to cool off. It's essential to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat.
Avoid the peak tourist season from November to February. If you prefer fewer crowds, you may consider visiting during the shoulder months of October, March, or April.
When is Bandhavgarh National Park Closed?
The core zones of the park are closed to visitors from July to September during the monsoon season.
Every Wednesday, the evening safari at Bandhavgarh National Park remains closed to visitors.

Bandhavgarh National Park Safari Booking
Bandhavgarh National Park, managed by Madhya Pradesh's Forest Department, offers two safari options: the open-top 4X4 jeep safari, accommodating up to six visitors and available for online booking, and the open-bus canter safari, accommodating 12 visitors.
Canter safaris are exclusively available in the Maghadi and Khituali zones and can only be booked in person at the gate of Bandhavgarh National Park. The canter safari costs around INR 1200 per person.
Both safaris include an experienced naturalist and driver.

When planning a jeep safari at Bandhavgarh National Park, you have two options: booking the entire vehicle or a single seat. The permit charges differ based on the visitor's nationality and the day of the week. Premium dates encompass weekends and public holidays, whereas other days are classified as normal.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism's White Tiger Forest Lodge
During my recent stay at Madhya Pradesh Tourism's White Tiger Forest Lodge, I was captivated by its prime location on the edge of the Tala Zone, just 350 meters from the entrance gate. The expansive property boasts lush greenery and open spaces, creating a serene atmosphere. The inclusive AP meal plan offered top-notch buffet meals with generous portions and excellent taste.
The rooms at the White Tiger Forest Lodge were spacious and tastefully furnished with modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. What truly stole my heart was the verandah outside each room. It provided the perfect spot to unwind and immerse myself in the serene green atmosphere.
One of the conveniences provided by the lodge is the arrangement of jeep safaris. If you book a full-vehicle safari, the hotel takes care of the vehicle and guide allocation, sparing you the need to handle this process at the zone's booking counter. They even provide a pickup service, making the entire experience seamless and hassle-free.
The hotel reserves a limited number of Canter Safari tickets for their guests. They handle the booking process and ensure a hassle-free experience by picking guests up directly from the hotel.
Regarding payments, the lodge accepts both cash and online (UPI) payments. It's important to note that card payments are not accepted on the premises. A few ATMs are located outside the property, but I recommend carrying sufficient cash to avoid any inconveniences.
What truly sets the White Tiger Forest Lodge apart is its remarkable staff. Throughout my stay, they demonstrated an exceptional level of care and attention to detail. A notable example was the breakfast service for early morning safaris starting at 5:30 AM. The staff took breakfast preferences during the previous night's dinner, ensuring that by 5:10 AM, a well-prepared breakfast basket with a water bottle was ready. This level of service truly impressed me.
My experience at the White Tiger Forest Lodge was nothing short of fantastic. With its beautiful surroundings, delectable meals, hassle-free safari arrangements, and attentive staff, it is undoubtedly a remarkable choice for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the captivating wildlife of Bandhavgarh.
